Regimental Awards

The PVRAR has series of internal awards in the form of decorations to recognize exceptional service to the regiment. These awards have no precedence and are purley to recognize effort within the Regiment.

AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT AWARDS.

ALL GOVERNMENT MEDALS OR AWARDS PRECEDE ANY REGIMENTAL AWARDS.

VOLUNTEER DECORATION.    (V.D.) MEDAL.

THIS IS THE OFFICER COMMANDING AWARD AND ONLY ONE IS TO ISSUED PER YEAR. FURTHER ADDITIONS MAY BE ISSUED AT THE O.C'S DISCRETION.

1st ADDITION.  BRONZE BAR.   (SCAR).

2nd ADDITION.  CANNON BALLS. (CLUSTER).

THE O.C. MAY ISSUE ONLY ONE MEDAL OR ONE BAR OR ONE CANNON BALLS PER YEAR.

THIS AWARD (IN SOME CIRCLES) IS ALSO CALLED THE V.D., SCAR AND CLUSTER.

THIS IS THE HIGHEST AWARD GIVEN BUY THE REGIMENT AND MUST PRECEDE ALL OTHER REGIMENTAL AWARDS.

LONG SERVICE.     SILVER MEDAL.

ISSUED FOR.        8 YRS  PLUS  75 SHOWS.

                               10 YRS  PLUS  50 SHOWS.

                               15 YRS  PLUS ANY SHOWS.

THIS IS A HIGHER AWARD THAN THE BRONZE EVENTS MEDAL.

THIS MEDAL IS TO WORN BEFORE THE BRONZE EVENTS MEDAL.

THIS MEDAL MAY BE WORN WITH A SHOWS BAR IN LIEU OF THE BRONZE EVENTS MEDAL.

ISSUED FOR.                                         25 SHOWS OR ENGAGEMENTS.

ADDITIONAL BARS.                          AFTER  50 SHOWS   BRONZE BAR.

USUAL SUSPECTS STAR.

THIS STAR IS AWARDED AT THE REGIMENTS DISCRETION TO MEMBERS WHO THE COMMITTEE DEEM IS A MEMBER WHO REGUARLY TURNS OUT AT A MOMENTS NOTICE.
